According to Wikipedia, Silver Star Mountain is a “recently uplifted ridge of older Western Cascades volcanic rock”. I moved here in 2004, and it was definitely here then.

Y’all: I finally got a photo of an owl! It’s hard to take pictures in low light, but at least you can tell it’s an owl. It’s a barred owl, according to the Merlin Bird ID app.
