The northern flicker is a member of the woodpecker family. Over 100 common names for the northern flicker are known, including yellowhammer, gawker bird, harry-wicket, heigh-ho, wake-up, and yarrup. Many of these names are attempts at onomatopoeia, which I celebrate.
